What You Should Know About the Senior Banquet
On Thursday, February 27th, the annual Senior Banquet will be happening in the Ten Oaks Ballroom β 5000 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville, MD 21029. The event is a celebration of the class of 2025 through all their years at James Hubert Blake High School and will be a party slightly less formal than prom.
Mrs. Friday, Leader of the Senior Class Council, states, βFor the Senior Banquet, we do have a DJ. When yβall originally voted on whatever different food items,βall were able to post some suggestions of some songs that will be sent to our DJβ¦ for him to consider.β
The banquet is a precursor to prom and a way for seniors to reflect on their high school years. It brings the seniors’ spirit together for one of the last parties of their high school careers.
βAs far as just the attire and what to wear, it’s definitely a more formal occasion so dress nice but not necessarily as formal as prom.β Mrs. Friday states that the seniors should not be too worried about a tense atmosphere and to, βjust wear what is most comfortable,β for the occasion.
According to Mrs. Friday, the event is senior-focused from start to finish: βI am in charge of our senior class councilβ¦so most of the planning has been done with our senior class council officers. They have been involved in the decisions and making our voting forms.β Members of the student body chose everything from music to food and venue to ensure the most comfortable experience.
The doors will open at 7:00 PM, the event will close at 8:00 PM, and the event will end at 11:00 PM. Based on SGA polls, the event will be catered. During the event, a slideshow of student pictures will be played. Ms. Fridayβs only request is that students βbring [their] phone in order to take pictures.β In conclusion, this event is to celebrate the soon-to-be graduating students and to create more memories for this part of the student body.
