PSAT Pushed Back!

Due to the technical difficulties last week during the Digital PSAT, MCPS students taking it here at Blake and throughout the county had to stop testing due to technology issues, forcing schools to adopt alternative schedules for the rest of the school day. and The PSAT was rescheduled for this Thursday, October 19th.

The day was hectic for students taking the test and staff involved in the administration. Students had to log out of the testing program and start anew later this fall.  This was the first year that the PSAT’s administration was entirely virtual through an application called Blue Book. This was also Mr. Edwards’ first year running the test online.

When asked what happened that caused the test disruption, Mr. Edwards said, β€œThere was a problem with the test day toolkit that the College Board uses to allow test proctors to give students access to the test and to monitor student progress.”

He went on to say, β€œThis was a nationwide issue. Some MCPS schools were able to complete testing, however, most schools were not able to complete the testing.”

Unlike other schools, every testing room had to halt their exam here at Blake.  While frustrating for students, the decision came from MCPS, so administrators had no other option.
