Winter/Autumn Paris Fashion Week 2025 is officially over. Let’s talk about it.

Paris Fashion Week 2025 was an absolute revelation, the collections from brands like Balenciaga, Rick Owens, and Comme des Garcons had lines that gave off dark, rebellious energy that caught the attention of many people who enjoy dressing in dark clothing. I, for one, paid close attention to the different ways these lines showed elegance with distressed jeans, oversized hoodies, and bold deconstructed designs. Certain designers embraced individuality this year while others reverted to the causal suit and tie.

The Rick Owens collection stood out and pushed the boundaries of dystopian fashion. His models went down the runway in long flowing black garments that created their shapes, shadows, and dramatic silhouettes. Rick Owens has inspired modern, everyday fashion. Even though not everyone can afford a Rick Owens piece, many try to replicate his style. It’s often refreshing to see someone push the boundaries like that.

Comme des Garcons had some very interesting pieces this year– some hit, some missed by a crazy long shot. Some pieces just had too much going on. Typically critics will call the jumbles of fabric creative expression but this year in the worse pieces nothing tied together. The ones that happened to look stunning, however, blew the crowd away. The melancholic aesthetic that this designer goes for came across really well this year.

Overall Paris Fashion Week 2025 was an inspiring show. There was boldness, depth, play on color and shapes, patterns and flow, and Fashion Week 2026 will have some big shoes to fill.
