MCU in 2023

2023 is the year for Marvel fans. Tons of new movies and shows that add to the universe that we love. We still see some of our old characters but with new storylines and new villains. And us being β€˜the watcher’ to get to see it all unfold. But there are a few things that we might not be so sure of. So for all, you fans here are just a few marvel movies that are coming out this year.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – February 17, 2023

In the trailer the gang, Antman, the Wasp, Dr. Pym, his wife Jane, and his teenage daughter Cassie, all go to the quantum realm. Allegedly, there is a secret world down there. The team’s goal is to get back home but I suspect that this is not all they will do during their time there. There are some familiar faces that have been seen in other MCU series. Something to look forward to is Cassie and her reactions to all that has happened this far. There is also the fact that Jane Pym has been in the Quantum realm before and from what it looks like she has information that she is keeping hidden.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – May 5, 2023

Everyone is growing up, including Groot who is now a teenager. You get a small backstory for some of the characters, to gain insight into how they came to be who they are. You continue to get a glimpse of white light with a new character trying to be introduced. With what is given to us it looks like they are going on amazing adventures in different places that haven’t been revealed just yet. There is one line in the trailer that intrigued me, where the rocket says, β€œI’m done running.” The question is what are they running from?

The Marvels – July 28, 2023

The MCU is bringing even more characters together with this new release. Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Photon are coming together to take on the foes of the galaxy. The foes in question seem to be the Skrolls from the first Captain Marvel movie. The movie/show looks promising, it carries a lot of potential. However, if we’re comparing it to the Captain Marvel film, the chances of it tanking are unfortunately high. I haven’t heard great things about the Ms. Marvel series either, so I myself am not too excited about this. The introduction of this trio could be very interesting to experience. It is a huge 50/50, where we as the audience don’t know what to expect.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse – June 2, 2023

The trailer begins with Miles looking out to what appears to be current-day New York (in his universe). His mother approaches him with a failed attempt at using our generation’s lingo. Parents, am I right? The trailer then rapidly switches as we see different shots of Miles, his allies, his enemies, New York, and The Spider-Verse, along with heartwarming dialogue spoken by Mile’s mom, reminding him not to forget who he is and where he came from. The beat then snaps and we see flashes of Gabriel O’Hara (the son of Miguel aka Spider-Man 2099) and Spider-Woman. Both of these characters and the other spider folk then begin to attack Miles and we’re given a single glimpse into Gabriel’s past before he slams Miles into the floor, ending the trailer. There is much to uncover, and we have to wait until June 2nd for it all to come to light.
