β€œIt’s Halloween, Everyone’s Entitled to One Good Scare!”

With October right around the corner, The Season of the Witch is stronger than ever, and what better way to celebrate than getting cozy, shutting off the lights, locking the doors, and watching horror! We are already in the midst of 2025’s spooky media, with Weapons released back on August 8th, The Conjuring: Last Rites making its theatrical debut on September 5th, and ALIEN: Earth, just finishing up its season finale on September 23rd on Hulu and Disney+ +. But what other Tricks and Treats are still lurking in the dark? Let’s find out!

Finishing off the September line-up, The Strangers Chapter 2 slashed its way to the big screen on the 26th, leaving room for the final installment coming next year. October oozes into our calendars on Wednesday the 1st, and it doesn’t waste ANY time, because 2 days later, on the 3rd, you can catch Coyotes, a film about a Hollywood family trapped in their home by a wildfire as they are stalked by a pack of vicious and hungry beasts. You can also catch Bone Lake, a film about a couple looking for a romantic retreat, but due to a mishap with the booking company, they have to share with a mysterious couple, as they turn out not to be what they seem. And if you thought that was it for October 3rd, you’re in for a scare with Good Boy, a movie about a man who moves into a new home with an evil presence, all while we experience it from the perspective of his Dog. And lastly, for the 3rd, for all of those out there who like to keep the ghouls and goblins in your own home, make sure to tune in to Shudder as it releases the next installment of the VHS franchise, VHS Halloween, which is an anthology found footage film soaked with blood and filled with scares.Β

On October 17, the much-anticipated Black Phone 2 releases into theatres as Ethan Hawke reprises his role of The Grabber, and is back from the dead to seek supernatural revenge. On that same day, Oscar-winning Director Guillermo Del Toro releases his take on the famous 1818 novel and 1931 film FRANKENSTEIN, starring Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi. Then, finally, ending off this October season, the release of Shelby Oaks on the 24th, about a woman who searches for her missing sister, and soon becomes obsessed with a demon from her childhood who turns out not to have been an imaginary friend, starring Keith David.Β
