Food Spot Spotlight: Naz’s Halal Food

We get so much enjoyment out of eating at large chain restaurants. Sometimes, we all need a change from the norm. In this article, I will spotlight an excellent restaurant: Naz’s Halal Food.

Naz’s Halal Food (colloquially known as Naz Halal) is a restaurant that doesn’t see as many visitors as it should. Their local location is at the White Oak Shopping Center, and they provide Arab cuisine that is very cost-effective and has amazing proportions for the price. Their main selling point is their rice platter, which comes with a choice of lamb, spicy chicken, or both, sauces to top it off, and a small salad all over a huge plate of rice, which amounts to a lot of great food for an unbeatable value.

The local shop has a very small building, and a large selection of bottled drinks, ranging from canned sodas to other drinks like those from the brand Snapple, or as a very moderate choice, a bottle of water. Aside from the main selling point, being their rice bowls, they also provide Halal versions of other foods like Gyros, Burgers, Wings, French Fries, and even Cheesesteaks.

Since many families and students who go to Blake High School live near the White Oak area, I highly recommend to go out and try it. It’s pretty affordable compared to fast food restaurants, very high quality, and has something for just about everyone to try (including picky eaters). If you are overwhelmed by the options you have, I highly recommend getting the Combo Over Rice, which has a great mix of lamb and spicy chicken, and getting it topped with the white and green sauces that they have leads to a very good mix of flavor, texture, and enjoyment for those who try it.
