’26 Spring Sports Recap

Gymnastics

The Gymnastics team ended the season as Division II champion. Freshman Maddyson Thomasson placed 2nd in the all-around county competition and won Blake’s freshman athlete of the year. In the County championship, Thomasson scored a career high score of 37.750, as well as earning her career high score on Vault with a 9.3. She won 1st Place on Floor with a 9.525 and she won 1st Place on Beam with a 9.725.Other season highlights included sophomore Mackenzie Harmon scored a career high score of a 9.125 on Vault.

Boys Track & Field

Boys Track & Field is a team on the rise.Β  The Bengals concluded a strong outdoor season by building on their 8th place finish at the Montgomery County Championships and finishing 22nd at the Maryland State Championship meet.Β  The team was led by jumper Jaxson-Micah Powers–2nd at the MD State meet in the high jump–and sprinter Julian Carter.Β  The team consisted primarily of underclassmen, so they’ll look to improve on this year’s results next year.

Girls Track & Field

The Girls Track & Field team finished in the top five in the county again this spring, led by high jumper Raeona Fisher and a strong group of sprinters.Β  The girls then finished 19th at the MD State Championships, a slight step back from the last few years, which is to be expected after BHS moved up to 4A competition this school year.

Baseball

Blake’s Baseball Varsity team ended the season with 11 wins and 8 losses. Season highlights included a 26-1 win over Einstein.

Boys Volleyball

The Varsity boys volleyball team concluded their spring 2026 games season playing a highly competitive schedule, including recent matchups against Walter Johnson and Paint Branch. They finished the season with 5 wins and 7 losses.

Co-ed Volleyball

The Coed Volleyball team completed their 2026 Spring season with ten wins and four losses.

Softball

The varsity softball team ended their season with aΒ  9-9 record. Season highlights include beating NEC rivals Paint Branch and Springbrook in the same week. They won their first round of playoffs against Springbrook 18-3 but lost in the second round of playoffs against Wheaton with a score of 9-4. Overall, the Bengals came back this year and improved from a lackluster 2025 season.

Boys Lacrosse

Boys lacrosse finished their season with an 8-9 record, losing in the playoffs to eventual state champion Urbana HS from Frederick.Β  They finished undefeated against NEC schools, going 3-0 with two victories against Springbrook.

Girls Lacrosse

Girls Lacrosse endured a tough season and finished with a record of 2-11.Β  The highlight of their season was a 9-1 victory over NEC rival Paint Branch.Β  With a young team, the girls will look to rebound and improve next year.

Boys Tennis

Boys Tennis finished a difficult season with a record of 3-8.

Girls Tennis

Girls tennis are MCPS Division IV champions. The bengals dominated much of their competition and their season included a six-match winning streak.Β  They finished with a record of 9-2, only losing against Sherwood and Whitman.
