End of Year Update

Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) and Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) have come to an agreement on the makeup days for the snow days. Below are the major changes that were decided in the agreement.

April 15, which was a grading and reporting day, was changed to an early release day for students. The third quarter was also due on that day as well, but the deadline for those has been postponed to April 20.

Finally, all days of school added after June 18 have been waived, making June 18 the official final day of school.

The proposed law that would change the year requirement to school hours rather than days has passed the House, but is still going through the other chamber of the Maryland legislature.
