Top 15 Movies of 2025
As we are traveling into the new year, many films are awaiting us in 2026. But letβs not forget what treasures we received the year beforeβ¦ so why donβt we recap! These are the top 15 movies of 2025!

15. Starting at number fifteen, we have The Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance, starring Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, and Peter Dinklage. The Roofman is a film adaptation of a true story about Jeffery Manchester, a U.S. Veteran and professional thief, who, when on the run, hides out in a Toys βR Us undetected for months. But when he falls for a divorced mom and her kids, his double life starts to unravel, eventually leading to his recapture. For how the trailers portrayed The Roofman as re-use formula comedy, it was a very heartfelt and well-directed film.

14. At number fourteen, we have Jurassic World: Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards, starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali. Zora Bennitt leads a team of skilled operatives to the original Jurassic Park to retrieve DNA from different dinosaurs that could provide life-saving benefits to mankind. Jurassic World: Rebirth is the 7th installment in the Jurassic film series, so it had a lot of expectations to live up to. The film is filled with many returning well-loved dinosaurs, redesigned from the franchise, but it introduces many new dinosaurs as well. While the film does have some unnecessary side plots and a lack of character development, the size of the film and amazing visuals make up for it and provide a very fun watch.

13. At number thirteen, we have The Running Man, directed by Edgar Wright, starring Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, and Michael Cera. The Running Man is a new adaptation of the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the 1982 short story by Stephen King. Set in the future, βThe Running Manβ is a hit reality television show. Its a deadly challenge where contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by deadly assassins. Desperate for money to provide for his sick daughter, Ben Richards (Glen Powell), is convinced by the show's producer to participate. With suspenseful and fun action, comedic performances, and amazing visuals, The Running Man is an immediate must-watch.

12. At number twelve, we have Black Phone 2, directed by Scott Derrickson, starring Mason Thames, Ethan Hawke, Madeleine McGraw, and Demian Bichir. After the first Black Phone, we pick back up with our characters, Gwen and Finn, a couple of years later. Following Gwen's dream visions, the two are led to a winter camp where 3 boys went missing years ago. Only to confront a now paranormal Grabber (Ethan Hawke) who is stronger than ever. With an amazingly built atmosphere and eerie synthesizer score, Black Phone 2 offers a fear-filled ride.

11. At number eleven, we have Predator: Bandlands, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. Cast out from his clan, Dek of the Yautja sets off on an adventure to kill the unkillable Kalisk, and on the way, makes an unlikely friendship with a Weyland-Yutani android named Thia. As the 7th installment in the Predator franchise, this film lives up to its predecessors. The change of formula in following the Predator is a fresh breath of air in the franchise and leads to endless possibilities for future installments. With giant new worlds and creatures, while our main character speaks an ancient alien dialect, serves as a unique and fun-filled watch.

9. At number nine, we have Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger, starring Julia Garner and Josh Brolin. One night, at 2:17 am, an entire 3rd-grade class walked out into the night and never came back. Leading the town to blame their teacher, Justine Grandy (Julia Garner), as we watch the mystery unfold. Told from the perspectives of each character, Weapons is a very unique watch, and is one of the best horror movies in the past 10 years, standing out amongst the rest.

8. At number eight, we have Companion, directed by Drew Hancock, starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid. A weekend getaway unravels after one of the guests jail break their βandroid for human companionshipβ and has it go haywire. This film is VERY entertaining, with a great score and many plot twists. It speaks on controlling and abusive relationships, and the hardship of escaping them. Companion was a great film to kick off the year with and is definitely a must-watch.

7. At number seven, we have The Fantastic Four: First Steps, directed by Matt Shakman, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Julia Garner, and Ralph Ineson. The Fantastic Four face their hardest fight yet as they have to defend their planet from Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Introducing us for the first time to our MCU Fantastic Four, this film is one of Marvel's finest. After a very long span of Marvel flops, The Fantastic Four are here to save and reunite comic book fans as a family again. With an amazing performance from our first family, and PERFECT casting for the Devourer of worlds, Galactus, given a truly accurate and intimidating performance by Ralph Inson. This might be a stretch, but after many bad Marvel movies being treated as invisible, this film is fiery and fun. And here's the Thingβ¦ Itβs Fantastic.

6. At number six, we have Superman, directed by James Gunn, starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Holt. As Superman is drawn into conflicts at home and abroad, his actions are questioned, giving tech billionaire Lex Luthor a way to get rid of the Man of Steel for good. With a recurring theme of John Williams score for 1978βs Superman, and a phenomenal performance as Kal El from David Corenswet, Superman 2025 is this generationβs Christopher Reeve. Leaving the theatre after watching this film gave you a sense of acceptance, fitting in, and most importantlyβ¦ hope.

5. At number five, we have Thunderbolts*, directed by Jake Schreier, starring Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, and Hannah John-Kamen. Thunderbolts* is yet another one of Marvel's return to glory. Ensnared in a death trap, a team of antiheroes, Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, and John Walker, embark on a dangerous mission that forces them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. The evil in this movie is depression; the villain is literally a walking metaphor for it. For a Marvel movie, it will surprisingly drag plenty of tears from you. It is one of the MOST emotional films Marvel has put out. And a very surprising and exciting twist at the end.

4. At number four, we have The Long Walk, directed by Francis Lawrence, starring David Jonsson, Mark Hamill, Ben Wang, and Cooper Hoffman. In this film, based on Stephen King's short story, teens participate in a gruelling high-stakes contest where they must continuously walk or be shot by a member of their military escort. Another emotional ride, with beautiful character development, and heartfelt moment after heartfelt moment, filled with bonding and brotherhood.
3. At number three, we have Friendship, directed by Andrew Deyoung, starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd. Craig Waterman, a reclusive man, meets his new neighbour, Austin Carmichael, and forms an unexpected friendship with him. As their friendship grows, so does Craig's obsession with Austin. This film is a WILD ride, but it is utterly hilarious. Tim Robinson does what he does best, and there won't be a single scene where he won't squeeze a laugh out of you. Itβs a phenomenal comedy while still being completely unique. A MUST watch.

2. At number two, we have Guillermo del Toroβs Frankenstein, starring Jacob Elordi, Oscar Issac, and Mia Goth. In this adaptation, A brilliant but egotistical scientist brings a monstrous creature to life in a daring experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. Every single frame of this movie is a painting, and not a single decision was left unpurposed. With amazing visuals, performances, and a very emotional score, this film is an immediate classic take on the 1818 novel.

1. Finally, at number one, we have The Life of Chuck, directed by Mike Flanagan, starring Tom Hiddleston. From childhood to adulthood, Charles "Chuck" Krantz experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us. This is one of the most emotional films Iβve seen in a while. Its one you have to just get on the ride with plenty of tissues and enjoy the journey of art. The Life of Chuck is a beautiful story, reminding us that we all matterβ¦ and we all contain multitudes, and it is by far the best movie of the year.
